Urban places determine the behavior of their respective inhabitants. Youthful people display diversity in their behavior depending on the places that they stay. According to urban culture refers to the practices that people in urban places display. He also asserts that urban culture entails the access to advanced technology that increases the level of modernisation.Gidley B (2007, P 149), suggests that there is a significance relation between the presentation of black and behavior in metropolitan places in Britain. This is a valid claim that is evident from the intensity in the expression of culture among the youthful people in Britain. British youths tend to be more expressive of their diverse cultures more than the older generation in Britain. The phenomenon of urban culture is dominant among the youth who seem to be aggressive. Music is a significant element of urban culture among the youth in Britain. This suggests that the youth will always reveal diverse cultural practices in their respective music. Music also allows people to identify with their diverse cultural practices. The realisation of such identifications is possible when these people include their practices in their music. The diversity in the expression of cultural practices highlights some elements of bigotry.
Legal frameworks based on the law shape youth offending in the UK. The framework provided under the Youth Justice System comprises of the procedures and organs that will convict, punish, and prosecute individuals who have not attained 18 years. This is necessary to ensure the punishment of criminal offenses committed by individuals below 18 years and prevent them from committing similar offenses in the future. Under the Detention and Criminal Courts Act 2000, when a person below 18 years of age is convicted for committed a given offense, the Crown Court will determine the sentencing process and the imprisonment of the juvenile. The court determines the level at which the offense is punishable. Some of the punishable offenses leading to sentencing in the country include sexual abuse, engaging in sexual activities with another child in the same family, inciting any other child in the family to have sex or sexual activity, possessing firearms, and engaging in any other forms of criminal activities.
Youth is considered as a constitution of an in-process phenomenon that is realised at an individual level in fact according Concise Oxford Dictionary; it is referred to as a state of being young or the period between childhood and adulthood. Fornas (1995), argues that culturally, one would be considered a youth in the sense that he has a limitation of remaining a youth until he meets specific rites of passage. He also adds that one would still be considered young if he is associated with rebellious breaking of the codes and norms of particular societal laws while, Youth Culture refers to an ideological phenomenon emerging from the development of Western forms of modernity and the increased sophistication of individuals’ lifestyle and media services (Appadurai, 1990). However, Youth sub-culture refers to a youth-based mode of life with elaborate and distinct behaviours, styles, interests and social rules to be observed. According to Oxford Dictionary, it also refers to a cultural group within a larger culture that usually has a common believe and interest different from those of the larger culture.
